If you do a Google search for "BMPCC"+"FilmConvert" you'll see that plenty of people have used it successfully with the Pocket Camera, which should have a similar if not identical profile to that of the Micro Cinema Camera. However, if I use a canon profile, or most other profiles I find that they do not warm up my shots so much and you get more of a neutral color overall.Īnyone notice this with grading footage for the BMMCC or BMPCC? I find it kind of annoying, if the point of the plugin is to easily match shots between cameras and different brands, I can't see how this helps by automatically warming up all of my Blackmagic footage. Just to get it back to a more neutral color I have to adjust the temperature slider in Filmconvert by about -300.Īs a test on my Blackmagic footage - if I adjust my first node to 0 saturation, and add Filmconvert on my second node - also set the profile for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera (the bmmcc profile does not exist) I find that the plugin adds this orangeish / sepia color to my shot. It's as if the BMPCC profile is setup to add a orangeish color to your footage. However, when selecting the BMPCC profile and adding to my BMMCC footage - also using the same film stock and similar settings that I would use on my Canon footage - I find that the plugin warms up the shot quite a bit. I recently purchased Filmconvert and I love the results I get when using on footage shot with my Canon 80D and Canon 1dx ii.
